Exchange requirements

If you want to start planning your Mobility, before applying, we recommend you to get information about the requirements that you must fulfill at the moment of starting the process.


Regular students

  1. Be a regular undergraduate or master's student throughout the entire UC pre-selection process, application, and acceptance at the host university, as well as during the exchange. It is not possible to suspend studies during the application semester or the mobility semester.
  2. Have no record of acts that violate the UC Honor Code nor have any sanction issued by the General Secretariat.
  3. Have pending credits to complete during the exchange semester; it is not possible to apply as a graduate or while in the process of obtaining a degree.
  4. Meet the language criteria established by the host university at the time of applying for the UC pre-selection process. More information in the Language Certificate section.
  5. Undergraduate: Must have completed at least one semester at the time of application, to start the exchange from the 4th semester of the degree program.
    Master's: Must be in the 1st or 2nd semester at the time of application, to start the exchange in the 3rd or 4th semester of the program.
  6. Master's students must have authorization from their program director to participate in the exchange.

While not an exclusive requirement, it is also recommended to:

  • Have a GPA equal to or higher than 5.0.
