Complete your Application
Meet your coordinator
Throughout the application process and up until your return, you will be supported by the Global Mobility Office team.
To begin the process, an in-person meeting will be held where you will be told what the next steps are. It’s important that you don’t miss it, as you’ll also have the chance to meet your mobility coordinator and other students applying to the same country/university as you.
Apply to your assigned university
Having a confirmed spot does not mean you have already been accepted by the host institution. To do so, two processes must happen first:
- Nomination: your mobility coordinator must officially notify the university that you have been selected to take part in the process. After that, the host institution will share the application information with you.
- Application: Once you receive the application instructions, you must complete it within the deadlines set by the host institution. At this stage, you will be asked for additional information and documents. These vary by university, but may include: a valid passport, transcript, language certificate, study plan, motivation letter, recommendation letter, among others.
Credit transfer and study plan
If you want to transfer credits when you return from your exchange, it’s essential that you talk with your academic unit about your plans, understand their credit-transfer requirements, and review together the courses you plan to take during your mobility period.
To prepare your study plan, keep the following recommendations in mind:
- Review the course catalogs of the host universities, indicated in the application set.
- You should be flexible with your study plan. It's not possible to guarantee places in any course at the host university, so we recommend looking at more courses than you expect to take.
- If the courses for the semester you will be attending are not available, use the same semester from the previous year as a reference.
IMPORTANT
The Vicepresident for International Affairs does not validate courses; you must complete the procedure with your Academic Unit in accordance with the procedures established by Academic Records and the Regulations on Validation in Academic Programs.
