Validate your language certificate

During your exchange, you will take regular courses at the host university; therefore, you need to have an intermediate level of the language to participate effectively. For this reason, we require a language certificate when you apply , demonstrating that you meet the minimum levels/scores established by each university. You can find this information in the available places section .

This is a procedure you can complete throughout the year to get ahead of the application process.

Important

  • It is necessary to have a language certificate to apply to required universities. The application system will not allow you to select these universities until you have a certificate validated by the VRAI.
  • It is not possible to submit certificates after the call for applications is closed.
  • To select a college, you must meet the minimum score and banded if applicable. You will not be able to select universities if you do not meet the exact score.
  • In the case of universities that ask for a differentiated language requirement according to area of study, it is the responsibility of each student to verify if he/she meets the minimum requirement for the areas of his/her interest. It could be the case that a student does not meet the minimum score for a certain area, but does for the rest. In such a case, and given that the system will let the student's application pass because he/she meets the minimum score in some of the areas, the VRAI will assume that the student is interested in registering for courses in the areas for which he/she does meet the language requirement. Under no circumstances will the student be able to register for subjects in the area for which he/she does not meet the score. This will result in the rejection of the application by the university to which the student is applying.
  • While the VRAI is constantly updating the language requirements in its university file, host universities often make unforeseen changes to these requirements, and the VRAI is not responsible for such changes, as it is outside its authority.
